Olfatec specializes in the design, manufacturing, and supply of odor control equipment to remove any nuisance odors in our environment. The company was born in the year 2008 funded by Costa Rican chemical engineer Sergio Zamora as a specialized company to provide solutions of odor control for Latin American market. In the year 2021 the company expands due to the inclusion of a new ally, the mechanical engineer Karl Schmidt, who joins the company to increase the manufacturing and sales capacity of odor control systems for America.
Senior Engineer
Sergio Zamora graduated in chemical engineering at the University of Costa Rica in 2002. He obtained a master’s degree in Project Evaluation and also a master’s degree in Ecological Economics. During twenty-two years of experience in the design and installation of air and water pollution control systems, he has implemented more than a hundred projects through different countries. Expert in dispersion modelling of air pollution using USEPA software. Founder and Project Manager of Lab Gaia, Gaiatec, Aquacontrol and Olfatec.
Sales Manager
Karl Schmitz studied mechanical engineering at the University of Cologne, Germany while working as a sales and project manager in central Europe for the wastewater and odor control department of GEA Group.
After graduating in 2016 he moved to the United States where he founded the company AET LLC which provides drinking water and wastewater system solutions. In preparation for this PE license, he completed leveling engineering classes at the USF in Tampa, FL.
During his 10 years of experience in the water and wastewater market he completed several municipal and industrial projects in various fields of applications such as food, beverage, oil and gas, heavy metals, mining and others.
After the successful founding and establishment of AET LLC for drinking water and wastewater applications, Olfatec US LLC will provide a great product addition for odor control systems.
Olfatec provides design and consultancy services as well as odor control equipment such as air scrubbers, activated carbon and others to remove any nuisance odors.
